As many people know, the Ottawa and Gatineau region was recently hit with a hefty storm that resulted in widespread power outages. According to Hydro Ottawa there were roughly 180,000 customers affected by the storm. The power outages affected many of our local veterinary clinics, some of whom had to temporarily close their doors. Pet parents should prepare by having first aid supplies in their homes that are tailored to their pets.
With more storms that may result in loss of power predicted to be coming our way this summer it is important to keep in mind the needs of our furry friends. Power outages and storms can be scary for many pets, some pets may require anti-anxiety medications/supplements or a Thunder Shirt to help calm them.
