Dr. Lianna is actively involved in volunteering in our local community, as well as internationally. She and her team have performed several night owl “spayathons” at the Ottawa Humane Society to help catch up on spay/neuter surgeries to place animals in their forever homes sooner. She has also travelled to remote islands in the Caribbean and Thailand to volunteer with animal rescue organizations. Lianna is a board member of the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care and is also the chair of their international committee. She has been the director of the Pet Loss Support Group since 2000, volunteering her time to facilitate monthly meetings for over 18 years. Lianna also regularly presents lectures about animal hospice to local veterinary professionals and students, and has spoken as an expert in the field in many television, radio, and online interviews.
