The greatest dog that ever lived crossed the rainbow bridge this morning. He was bleeding internally and there was nothing else we could have done for him. For a dog who's nickname was Winner he just couldn't seem to catch a break.
He was my best bud for six and half years and my only regret is that I didn't find him sooner and couldn't love him longer. Taking care of Winston was never easy but he filled my life with purpose and meaning and oh so much joy.
Everyone who met Winston fell for his sweet nature, big brown eyes and that giant kissable nose. His sudden entrance into my life in August 2011 was a gift and blessing that I never saw coming but I loved him instantly and it was only a matter of hours before he stole my heart forever. Just like he stole Nick's heart the day they met. I'm so grateful to have had Nick by my side, especially through these past few difficult months with Winston's health. We both loved him so much. If love alone could have saved him he would have outlived us all.
Rest in peace sweet Winston. We miss you terribly. You were a good boy.
